Ingredients

  • lentils - 7 oz (200 g)
  • carrots - 1 pc.
  • onion - 1 onion
  • garlic - 3 - 4 cloves
  • paprika - 2 tsp.
  • salt
  • savory herb - 2 tsp.
  • ginger - 1 tbsp.
  • lovage - 1 tbsp.
  • fenugreek
  • tomatoes - 2 - 3 pcs. (small)
  • peppers - 1 pc.
  • oil - 3 - 4 tbsp.
  • flour - 2 tbsp.

How to make

The lentils are cleaned, washed and soaked in cold water for about 2 hours.

In a deep pot, add the oil to heat up a little and fry the paprika in it. The onion and carrot are grated, garlic is cut into small pieces and stewed in oil with paprika.

Add the lentils and add 3-4 cups of water. Let it boil for about 20-25 minutes (the lentils should be boiled without salt, as it will slow down the cooking process, salt is added later).

Then add the grated tomatoes and the pepper cut into small cubes. Add the spices and mix well. Add more water if needed.

It is left to boil. Add the salt and flour mixed with water (2 tbsp.).

The lentil soup is served sprinkled with parsley.

The lentils with aromatic spices are ready.
