Ingredients

  • red onion - 9 oz (250 g)
  • red wine - 2/3 cup (150 ml)
  • olive oil - 2 1/3 tbsp (35 ml)
  • water - 4 tbsp (60 ml) or meat broth
  • salt - 1/2 tsp. or by taste
  • sugar - 1 tsp.
  • black pepper - 3 pinches, or pepper melange

How to make

Cut the red onion into thin crescents and fry it until soft in olive oil along with salt and sugar.

Pour the water and after 2-3 minutes pour in the red wine.

Cook for 15 minutes over medium heat, by stirring frequently.

Finally, season with black pepper (or pepper melange) and blend.
