"Roasted mackerel with sauerkraut is easy to prepare and the combination is very good"

Ingredients

  • mackerel - 2 pcs.
  • sauerkraut - 1 jar (500 g)
  • rice - 3.5 oz (100 g)
  • onion - 1 onion
  • paprika - 1 tbsp.
  • tomato juice - 4/5 cup (200 ml)
  • savory herb
  • black pepper
  • salt

How to make

Put the sauerkraut and rice in a baking pan or a glass pot. The sauerkraut doesn't need to be from a jar, in which case it is finely chopped.

The onion is cleaned and cut into cubes. It is added along with the paprika and tomato juice. Season with salt and black pepper. Add as much savory herb as you want.

A good amount of water is added to all of the products. Everything is stirred.

Put everything to bake with a lid on, in order to stew the sauerkraut well.

The mackerel is cleaned well and it is washed. Each of them is cut into 4 pieces. They are added into the baking pan when the rice is almost ready, because the fish cooks much faster and in order for it to stay juicy.

If necessary, more water is added to the roasted fish.

The roasted mackerel with sauerkraut is very tasty.
