Ingredients

  • apples - 9 lb (4 kg)
  • pears - 2.2 lb (1 kg)
  • sugar - 6.6 lb (3 kg)
  • water - 2/3 cup (150 ml)
  • cinnamon - 2 - 3 tsp.
  • citric acid - 1 tsp.

How to make

The sugar and water are poured into a deep pot and a syrup is made.

The apples and pears are washed, cleaned and cut into small pieces.

They are added to the prepared syrup and are left to simmer over low heat, until the apple jam is cooked and aquires a golden brown color.

Add the cinnamon and citric acid and after 3-4 minutes remove it from the heat.

While still hot, the apple and pear jam is poured into dry jars, the lids are tightly closed and turned upside down on a cloth on a flat surface.

The next day, the jars of apple and pear jam are checked and put away in a cool place.
