How to make

First, prepare the sauce by chopping the onion, garlic and pepper and frying them in the heated olive oil. Stir, so that they do not stick, because there is little fat (the goal is not to make the sauce greasy, if you add more olive oil);

Add the ketchup and tomato sauce with the brown sugar and a little salt (and cayenne pepper if you like) and cook for about 4-5 minutes, then add the rest of the sauce ingredients. Mix well and leave for another 4-5 minutes on the stove, then remove it (if you want a finer sauce, blend it);

In a heated pan, put a tablespoon of olive oil and cook the asparagus on all sides, with previously cleaned and cut off lower ends, where they are tough. Be careful with the tips, which are fragile and break easily. Sprinkle with coarse salt (asparagus does not need long heat treatment, 5 minutes on high heat is enough for them to remain crunchy);

Now comes the time for the meat, which we can cook in the same pan as the asparagus, by adding the second spoonful of olive oil.

Cook the steaks over high heat, by putting them in the pan only when it has reached maximum temperature - 1-2 minutes on each side is enough to keep the meat pink and tender on the inside! Of course, if you like it well done, increase the time, but there is a risk that the beef will dry out and lose its flavor.

Sprinkle salt only when it's ready!

Arrange the asparagus, beef steak and a few spoonfuls of the barbecue sauce on a serving plate.

Consume the meat while it is warm.

Enjoy!
