Ingredients

  • water - 2 1/3 cups
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • semolina - 1 cup
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp.
  • butter - 3 oz (80 g)
  • instant coffee - 1 tsp.

How to make

Mix the water with 1 teaspoon of instant coffee. Then add the sugar. Boil, until a syrup is obtained.

Put the butter in a pan and melt it on the stove, by stirring. To the butter, add 1 cup of semolina. Keep stirring.

Fry the butter with the semolina, until it aquires a golden color. Slowly pour the hot syrup into the mixture with butter and semolina. Stir at all times to avoid lumps.

Pour the mixture, once you have made it smooth enough, into a small baking pan. Sprinkle it with cinnamon on top.

Once it cools down, the semolina halva is cut into squares.
