How to make
The onions and carrots are cut into small cubes and potatoes into larger ones.
Fry the onion and carrot in heated oil, then add the bay leaf and as much salt and black pepper as you like. You should keep in mind that the vegetable broth is salty.
Add the potatoes and fry them, while stirring.
Pour the water and when it boils, add the vegetable broth and washed rice. Leave the potato soup on low heat, until the potatoes have softened and the rice is fully cooked.
When this happens, add the chopped pickles with 1/4 cup from their juice and chopped dill.
Leave the vegetable soup for a few more minutes.
Then the Russian soup with pickles is removed from the stove and it is ready to be served.
