Ingredients

  • offal - 2 lb (1 kg), chicken hearts
  • rice - 2 cups
  • onions - 1 old head or 1 bunch fresh
  • champignons - 5 - 6
  • peppers - 1, red, cut into strips
  • oil - 2 - 3 tablespoons
  • salt - to taste
  • black pepper - to taste + other spices, as desired
  • for topping
  • yoghurt - 1 cup
  • eggs - 2
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 pinch
  • flour - 2 - 3 tablespoons

How to make

Boil the hearts in about 6 1/5 cups (1.5 l) of salted water for about 15-20 minutes. Fry the onions, peppers, champignon mushrooms and rice in a pan for about 10 minutes and add spices as desired.

Mix everything together in a pan with the juices from the hearts and bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes until the water boils off.

Then pour on the prepared topping and bake for another 10-odd minutes.
