Ingredients

  • For the dough
  • flour - 4 - 5 cups (poured in small quantities)
  • yogurt - 1 cup
  • water - 1 cup (warm)
  • dry yeast - 2 tsp (10 g)
  • sugar - 1 tbsp.
  • oil - 6 tbsp.
  • salt - 1/2 tbsp.
  • stuffing
  • minced meat - 1.1 lb (500 g)
  • onion - 1 onion
  • parsley
  • fresh dill
  • yellow cheese - for sprinkling
  • yolks - 1 for spreading
  • paprika
  • black pepper

How to make

Dissolve the yeast with the sugar in lukewarm water, stir and wait for it to activate.

Gradually knead a soft dough, by mixing all the products listed for it. Leave the finished dough to rest for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, finely grate the onion and add it to the minced meat along with the spices. Leave it aside for a while, so that the aromas blend well.

Divide the dough into balls of the desired size, roll them out longitudinally, in order to form something like boats.

In the middle of each boat put the minced meat and smooth it out well.

Spread them the beaten egg yolks on the edges of the boats.

Preheat the oven to 480°F (250 degrees). Put baking paper in a baking pan and arrange the pide in it. Bake until they're fully baked, by sprinkling them with a little grated cheese at the end.

Sprinkle the finished pide with fresh dill.
