How to make
Remove the tofu from the sachet and leave it to drain from the water. Dry it with kitchen paper.
Cut it into cubes or pieces in the shape you like.
Chop the fresh green garlic.
Mix the cornstarch with black pepper and a pinch of salt and roll the pieces of tofu in the mixture. Leave them for 5 minutes to absorb the starch from the residual moisture on the vegan cheese. This will then give the tofu an amazing crispy crust after it has been fried.
Make a sauce for the fried tofu, by mixing all the listed products for it and boil it over medium heat, until it has reduced and thickened. Be careful not to thicken it too much, because once it cools, it will thicken even more.
Taste it and if you like, add honey, lemon or soy sauce, depending on whether you like a sweet, sour or savory taste.
Once the honey-soy sauce is ready, fry the tofu in hot oil over medium heat. Turn the pieces over until they are golden on all sides.
Shortly before removing the fried tofu, add the chopped green garlic and remove it from the heat after less than a minute.
Pour the contents of the pan into a large strainer to strain the fat well.
Put it in the plate, in which you will serve it and pour the sauce.
Sprinkle the vegan dish with sesame seeds and more fresh garlic, if desired.
Delicious with Asian flavors!
