"If the kids want to munch on something, make then these homemade savory cheddar biscuits"

Ingredients

  • flour - 8 oz (220 g)
  • cheddar - 5.3 oz (150 g)
  • butter - 4 oz (110 g)
  • yogurt - 4.3 oz (120 g)
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp.
  • dried oregano - 1 - 2 pinches
  • black pepper - 1 pinch (finely ground)
  • salt - 1 pinch (optional)

How to make

Grate the cheddar cheese on a fine grater. Mix it with the soft butter.

Add the baking soda in the yoghurt and leave it to activate.

Pour the flour with the spices and salt into a bowl and add the milk and butter with the cheddar.

Knead a soft and non-stick dough and if necessary sprinkle more flour.

Roll it out into a thin crust and cut the biscuits into the shape you want. Arrange them in a tray lined with baking paper or greased with oil.

The cheese biscuits are baked at 360°F (180 degrees) for about 15 minutes or depending on their thickness. They are ready as soon as they aquire a golden color and start to smell nice.

When the tray is removed from the oven, the biscuits are left to cool well and that way they will acquire a crispy crust.
