"Your jeans say one piece, but your soul is crying for two pieces of this Russian pirog"

Ingredients

  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • crystal sugar - 14 tbsp.
  • oil - 9 tbsp.
  • milk - 9 tbsp.
  • plain flour - 12 tbsp.
  • baking powder - 2 tsp.
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp.
  • apples - 4 pcs. (large in size)
  • powdered sugar - for sprinkling
measures

How to make

Oven - 360°F (180 degrees);

Rectangular cake pan greased with butter - 12x9″ (30x22 cm).

Peel the apples and grate them. Grate them on a coarse grater. Pour them into a pan with 5 tbsp. of sugar and leave them on a medium heat to almost caramelize, so that there is no residual juice left.

Remove the pan from the heat and add the cinnamon. Allow everything to cool completely.

The eggs and 9 tbsp. of sugar are beaten into a creamy mixture. Add the oil and mix everything very well on the lowest speed of the mixer.

The flour and baking powder are added in portions, alternating with milk. Beat the mixture with a mixer again on the lowest speed.

The cake pan is greased very well with a piece of butter.

Pour 2/3 of the mixture into the baking pan. Place it in a preheated oven at 360°F (180 degrees) for 10 minutes.

Take it out and spread the apple sauce on it. Pour the rest of the dough on top.

Bake it at 360°F (180 degrees) for another 30-40 minutes.

Let the pirog cool down and sprinkle it with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
