How to make

For this recipe we will serve the oysters raw and it is the most recommended way to consume them in order to enjoy their intense sea taste. Melon will only add an exotic note and an interesting flavor.

The most important thing for this seafood gift is to buy it from a safe place and for it to be fresh. It is mandatory for the oysters to be stored in a refrigerator without opening them up and they need to be covered or slightly buried in a lot of ice until the moment of their consumption.

Cut the melon into small cubes and the lemons into quarters or halves.

Prepare a wide serving platter in which there is room to place all 8, which is enough appetizer for 4 people. If desired, you can break the ice and place it on the bottom of the serving platter and the oysters can be placed on it, in order to stay fresh and look more presentable.

With an oyster knife or a simple small knife, carefully open up each one and place them on the ice or directly onto a plate. Be careful not to injure your fingers, as there are quite sharp parts on the surface of the shells.

Place pieces of melon on each open oyster and garnish them with lemon, which is normally squeezed on top of the oyster before sucking the inside of it.

Enjoy the oysters with a glass of champagne or other sparkling wine (Prosecco, Cava).
