  • lentils - 10 oz (300 g)
  • leeks - 1 stalk
  • carrots - 1 pc.
  • red peppers - 1 pc.
  • tomato salsa - 1 cup
  • paprika - 1 tbsp.
  • garlic - 3 cloves
  • vegetable oil - 1 cup
  • savory herb - a twig
  • thyme - 4 sprouts
  • salt - by taste
  • hot peppers - optional

How to make

Soak the lentils in cold water from the night before. Wash the vegetables and cut them into small cubes. Rinse the swollen lentils and pour cold water over them.

Put the pot on the stove and as soon as the water boils, reduce the temperature, add the vegetable oil and chopped vegetables - leeks, carrots, peppers and garlic cloves.

Put the sprig of savory herb and add the paprika. Once the lentils are cooked, pour the tomato salsa and season with salt.

The lentil stew needs to simmer for another 10 minutes. Serve it warm, garnished with sprigs of thyme and a hot pepper.
