How to make
Beat the eggs, cream, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Place the bread slices in a baking dish large enough to line them up in one layer. Pour the egg mixture over them and leave them to soak for about 5 minutes, then flip the slices over and set them aside for another 5 minutes.
Heat the butter and oil in a pan and fry the slices until golden on both sides. Remove and set them aside on a cooking grid to drain off the grease. Serve with jam and fruits.
