How to make
Thoroughly mix the grated apples, sugar, walnuts, cinnamon, cloves and lemon rind. Take 2 phyllo pastry sheets and brush them thoroughly with melted butter.
At one end of a sheet, smear the mixture evenly, roll it up, form the roll into a snail shell and place it in a greased tray. Wrap the second sheet around the first and so on until the tray is full.
Put it to bake and top with a few tablespoons of water. Let the finished strudel cool and sprinkle it with powdered sugar.
