How to make
In a deep pan heat up the oil. Peel the onions, cut them into small pieces and add them to the oil. Cook for 5 minutes until soft. Add turmeric and garlic, which is previously pressed or finely chopped.
Cook for around a minute, then add the rice and fry the whole mixture a few minutes. When the rice is fried, season with salt and pepper, add 1 2/3 cups (400 ml). Water in a pan and boil for 15 minutes over low heat.
Having cooked the rice, remove it from the heat and leave it for 10 minutes to absorb the water, if there is any.
Finally, add grated lemon rind and lemon juice. Stir, and voila! You can add other vegetables such as pepper, peas and carrots to this.
