Ingredients

  • cabbages - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • green tomatoes - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • carrots - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • celery
  • banana peppers - 5 - 6
  • marinade
  • vinegar - 1 cup (250 ml)
  • sea salt - 3 tablespoons
  • sugar - 3 tablespoons
  • aspirin - 3

How to make

Wash the green tomatoes, make holes in them with a needle or a fork. Peel the carrots, cut them into round slices, chop the cabbage coarsely.

Mix all the vegetables in a large container, stir with the coarsely chopped celery.

Fill a 12 1/2 cups (3 L) jar with the veggies, while placing a few banana peppers in several areas. Pour in vinegar, salt, sugar and powdered aspirin (3 pills ground).

Heat up water, fill the jar up to the rim and close with a cap.

Use the remaining cabbage to fill up a smaller jar. For it - vinegar up to the bottom mark, 1 tbsp salt, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 aspirin and then water up to the rim. Close with caps and leave in a cool and dark area.

Check on it from time to time and if needed, pour in more water.
