Rosemary

Rosemary is a wonderful spice rich in nutrients, antioxidants and essential fatty acids. Rosmarinus Officinalis thrives in basic soil and is highly widespread in the Mediterranean Sea and Asia Minor regions. Its superb pine and slightly spicy aroma is suitable for adding into all kinds of soups, sauces and seasoning chicken or pork, certain types of fish and more.

The leaf of this spice contains compounds that contribute to good human health. The tips of rosemary are exceptionally rich in antioxidants that stimulate the immune system, in essential oils such as cineole, camphene, borneol and others.

These compounds have warming and anti-inflammatory effects, relieve asthma attacks and also possess anti-allergenic properties. Furthermore, rosemary has antifungal and antiseptic properties, increases blood flow to the brain, thereby improving concentration.

The herb is very rich in group B vitamins and contains high levels of folates (derivatives of folic acid - vitamin B9). These are important for DNA synthesis and its optimal amounts in the bodies of pregnant women, acting as a prophylactic against defects of the neural tube (Spina bifida).

Rosemary contains vitamin A as well, which as we know is crucial for maintaining good vision and skin. Use of these types of natural products protects against malignant tumors in the lungs, oral cavity, breasts, skin, prostate and colon. And all this thanks to the cortisol found in rosemary.

All parts of the plant are a rich source of potassium, calcium, iron, manganese and copper. Potassium is needed to maintain normal blood pressure, while the iron is an invariable part of the hemoglobin of red blood cells that determines the oxygen capacity of the blood.
