Diet

Dr. Lauren Cordain believes that humans today are genetically adapted to consume what our ancestors ate.

He wrote a book about it, in which he included the so-called paleolithic diet or paleo diet. This new and very current way of eating, even among the stars, is classified as a protein diet. The difference is that you can eat an unlimited amount of vegetables and fruit.

Dr. Cordain's main idea is to go back to the ancient times, which means that when switching to this regime, we should give up processed foods and convenience foods from supermarkets.

This Paleo diet is said to help you lose fat quickly while maintaining your energy, helps you sleep better and makes you feel better.

Healthy Eating with the Paleo Diet

Cannot be consumed:

- Cereals;

- Dairy products;

- Leguminous plants;

- Sugar;

- Oil, butter, margarine, only olive oil is allowed;

- Potatoes;

- Root vegetables;

- Dried fruit;

- Peanuts;

- Jam;

- Alcohol;

- Foods containing gluten

All kinds of seafood and fish are allowed for consumption, as well as many kinds of meat – chicken, turkey, duck, goose. From the heavier meats, pork, lamb, sheep, game are allowed. Rabbit and beef can also be eaten. From the meat, it is best to consume lamb or pork less often.

Paleo Diet

It is also interesting that eggs are not only allowed in the paleo diet, but there is no limit to their quantities. For fats, with the exception of those listed above, any oils (coconut, avocado) can be used, including lard.

Regarding spices, all types can be used in the paleo diet as long as they are not mixes, as their contents are often unclear and may contain prohibited products. Fruit and vegetables are almost entirely allowed.

With the paleo diet, larger portions are allowed, since the main content of the meals are meat and vegetables. This diet goes well with exercise. Consumption of fruit, vegetables, meat, seafood and nuts provide everything the body needs.

During the first phase of the diet, three of your meals should be open, meaning you can eat whatever you want. It's good not to slack off - if you feel like having ice cream, eat 100 g. This first level lasts for two weeks.

During the second level, you can only have two open days per week. And this level is two weeks. If you have achieved the desired results, you proceed to the next stage - the third level. Here the open meal is once in seven days.

You have three main meals and you can indulge in snacks in between – fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts, unsalted sunflower seeds, etc. Herbal tea and decaffeinated coffee can be consumed.
