Diets are every woman's number one enemy. However, they prove to be especially imperative when the cold months are over and summer is just around the corner. Then the pursuit of the perfect body becomes more and more tangible and diets turn out to be the most effective weapon.
Nowadays there are thousands of diets that prioritize or eliminate certain foods from the menu. In recent years, one of them has gained particular popularity and it is precisely the fasting diet.
What is the fasting diet and how should you eat
The fasting diet is a regimen of intermittent fasting in which the body goes through an active detox. The purpose of fasting is to deplete the energy reserves - glucose, which is located in the liver. Then the body is forced to use energy from the fat and thus the fat molecules are released in the liver. The whole process is known as ketosis.
It is recommended that you avoid carbohydrates when you're on this diet. You should also eliminate any added sugars or refined foods from your diet. Their avoidance is imperative, as they have the property of breaking down into sugars extremely quickly. This will prevent you from feeling full for a long time. In addition, these nutrients increase insulin and blood sugar levels.
During the fasting diet focus on foods that are rich in fiber. They are absorbed more slowly by the body, which will give you a long-lasting feeling of satiety.
The most beneficial foods during fasting
- Fruits and vegetables;
- Oats;
- Meat, such as red meat should be limited to once a week;
- Whole grain bread;
- Legumes - beans, lentils, peas, etc.
- Seeds;
- Dairy products;
- Foods rich in protein. These are chicken, fish, legumes and eggs.
Although this regimen is associated with starvation, this does not preclude the need for a full meal. It is particularly important for maintaining a normal psychological state, low stress levels, good sleep and a fulfilling life.
