We will offer an easy option for cooking canned peas. You can use it to make a lean stew.
First of all, you need to choose quality peas. Canned peas cook very quickly and easily. They are much less labor-intensive to cook than frozen or fresh peas, because canned peas are blanched and require much less heat treatment.
In a suitable container (a medium-sized pot), pour 4-5 tablespoons of oil. Finely chop one small onion and two small carrots and pour them into the oil. Fry the vegetables until they soften, add half a tablespoon of paprika and pour water halfway up the container.
Once the water boils, add salt to taste, open the canned peas (400-500 g), pour out the juice from the tin and pour the peas into the boiling water.
After boiling for about 10 minutes, pour about 150-200 milliliters of tomato juice into the pot. Let the pea stew boil for another 15 minutes and add a little savory herb.
Then prepare a flour mixture with two tablespoons of flour and 150 milliliters of water, pour it into the pot and mix well. Wait for the flour to thicken the stew for 4-5 minutes and turn off the heat.
