How to Quickly Peel Garlic?

Garlic is widely used in every cuisine and adds an unique flavor to our dishes. However, peeling cloves is not always a quick and pleasant task, especially when we need a larger amount them.

Because of the fine dry scales that surround the garlic cloves, often tightly stuck, we could not use an ordinary vegetable peeler, but have to do this by hand. However, here are some tricks that will help you peel garlic quickly and easily in seconds.

1. Take a whole head and place it on a kitchen board. With the palm of your hand, press it on top and this way the cloves will instantly separate and the outermost layers of skin will fall off. Then collect all the cloves and put them in a jar, by closing it tightly with a lid. You can also use a plastic bottle or other container, which closes well. Shake it vigorously for 15 seconds and your garlic will be free of any stubborn skins. If there are still some that haven't been peeled, place them back into the bowl and shake them for a few more seconds.

2. In case you need a few cloves and the first method does not work for you because it requires more, then simply place a clove on a kitchen board and apply light pressure with the broad part of a knife without flattening it too much. This way, the outer layer will separate in seconds and you can simply remove it.

3. Another very popular method recently is peeling garlic using a silicone tube or simply a silicone plate rolled up like a tube. The garlic cloves are placed in it and left to lie on a kitchen counter or board. It is pressed with the palms, by moving the tube back and forth and exerting light pressure at the same time. So again, in seconds, your garlic will be perfectly clean from the scales.

Do not hesitate to use these methods to make your work in the kitchen more pleasant and easy and to save valuable time.
