Nutritional value of avocado
An avocado is the pear-shaped fruit of the avocado tree. They have leathery green skin. When the avocado is ripe, it turns dark green or black. Its fruit vary in size and can weigh from 100 grams to a kilogram. Hence the different caloric content in one fruit. Calories are usually given per 100 grams of a given food. In this case, 100 g of avocado has 160 calories.
But most grocery stores have medium-sized avocados of about 150-250 g.
The recommended serving size is about 1/5 of a medium-sized avocado.
