Baking fish is one of the easiest ways to cook it. But many novice cooks are faced with the question of how long to bake fish for.
In fact, this question cannot be answered unequivocally, because the time the fish is baked is determined by both the size of the oven and the specific recipe.
Fish meat is much more tender than chicken or pork, which means that it will need much less time to cook, until it's ready.
More tender and lean fish need about 30-40 minutes of baking at about 360°F (180°C) to be ready for consumption. The time is approximate for fish weighing up to 1.5 lb (700 g). If the fish is larger, you should increase the baking time.
Fatter fish such as carp require longer baking. Therefore, if you decide to surprise your guests with stuffed oven-baked carp or St. Nicholas carp, you should make sure you have at least 1 hour for baking.
