How is Sorbet Made?

Sorbet is one of the iconic summer culinary creations. It can be found in the form of an iced drink or as a frozen dessert resembling ice cream. According to some sources, the refreshing sorbet originated in ancient Persia.

But similar desserts have been prepared elsewhere in the world, so the origin of the sorbet is controversial. Dairy products are usually not used in its preparation, but the dessert may contain lemon juice, sugar syrup, wine, fruit.

See how sorbet is made in this example and very easy recipe:

Necessary products: 2.2 lb (1 kg) melon, 1 cup of sugar, 1 lemon

Method of preparation: It is best if the melon has been left in the refrigerator for several hours. Take it out, wash it well, peel it, cut it in half and remove the seeds. Carve out the inside and cut it into small pieces. Add the sugar and juice of 1 lemon. Blend in a food processor, until the ingredients fully blended.

Place the prepared mixture in a suitable container and store it in the freezer. Stir the homemade sorbet every two hours and place it back into the freezer. Do this 3-4 times. Store the melon dessert in the freezer, until it's time to serve it. Carve it out with an ice cream scoop and serve it in spectacular glass cups with a stool or beautiful bowls. You can decorate it with small fruit or mint.

This was one of the easiest ways to make the ice dessert.

We recommend that you try more sorbet recipes, including sorbet with watermelon and sorbet with raspberries.
