Home grown sunflower seed is a gift from nature. It is a very valuable and quality creation. It contains nutrients, which are important for the health. The irreplaceable taste of roasted sunflower also brings a lot of joy and pleasure when eating it.
To prepare sunflower seeds properly at home, you need to follow a few very simple rules.
Sunflower seeds are carefully removed from the sunflower core. It is desirable to do that by hand.
The seeds are then left for a few days at room temperature. Raw sunflower seeds should be stored in a dry and ventilated place.
Select the desired amount for roasting. Wash them well and sprinkle with salt and flour. Stir by hand to homogenize all of he products and stick evenly to the sunflower seeds.
Once these simple rules are followed, roast the sunflower seeds. Roasting is done in an oven at a temperature of about 300°F (150°C). It is advisable not to preheat the oven.
Place the sunflower seeds in a tray onto baking paper. Roast for about 15 minutes and stir the seeds every five minutes.
Be sure to try a few seeds before removing them from the oven. Once they are crispy and slightly browned, they are ready.
