Freezing vegetables and storing them in the freezer is one way to eat them even when they are out of season and their retail prices are sky-high.
Even if you are not one of those people who freezes winter food, you have inevitably admired the dozens of different types of frozen vegetables or vegetable mixes, which are available in large food stores.
And once you've filled your cart with packets of frozen broccoli, Chinese mix or frozen spinach, you're faced with the question of how to prepare them.
In fact, there is nothing complicated in their preparation. Frozen vegetables need a shorter cooking process because most of them have been blanched before being frozen.
Frozen vegetables are not usually defrosted before cooking. They are put directly in boiling water when you plan to boil them, or they are put in a pan with a little fat, when you want to stew them.
If desired, you can add a little water in the process of heat treatment, but it's usually not necessary. With one package of ready-made frozen Chinese mix you can quickly and easily prepare fried rice or Chinese-style rice with vegetables.
