"Classic boiled bagels. How many of them can you eat in one sitting?"

Ingredients

  • bagel dough
  • flour - 2 cups (500 g)
  • yeast - 1 packet
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • boiling of bagels
  • water - 1 1/5 cups (300 ml)
  • honey - 1 tbsp
measures

How to make

Dilute the yeast with the sugar in the slightly warm water. Knead a smooth and hard dough from the ingredients listed and leave it to rise.

Roll out the ready dough into a thick sheet - about 2″ (5 cm). Cut out circles using a wide-rimmed cup, then cut out a circle in the middle of each with a smaller form. Gather up the cut out dough, knead it and use it to make the rest of the bagels.

Boil the water with the honey and drop the bagels in it. Once they rise up to the top, boil 4 more min. Take them out onto a cooking grid to drain away the water.

Arrange them in an oven dish laid out with baking paper and bake in a preheated moderate oven to a nice crisp.
