"Superb marinated beetroots which are going to serve as the main ingredient in our winter salads."

Ingredients

  • beetroots - 6.5 lb (3 kg)
  • sugar - 1 2/3 tbsp (25 g)
  • cumin - 1 2/3 tbsp (25 g)
  • cloves - 8 grains
  • vinegar - 2 cups (500 ml)
  • salt - 2/5 cup (100 g)

How to make

Wash and peel the beets and cut them into rings. Put them in a pot so that they take up 3/4 of its volume and add the spices.

Mix well and transfer them into large jars. Boil the vinegar with the salt and chill it. Pour this over the beets, cover them with foil and keep them in a cool area.
