"Grandma taught me how to knead this round loaf and now I`d like to pass on the tradition."

Ingredients

  • flour - 3 1/3 cups (800 g)
  • yoghurt - 1 1/2 cups
  • baking soda - 1 1/2 tsp
  • eggs - 3
  • oil - 3 tablespoons
  • sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp

How to cook

Dissolve the baking soda in the yoghurt. Knead a dough, adding the flour to the yoghurt, the eggs (except 1 yolk), oil, sugar and salt. Knead the dough well and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Then carefully roll it out into a thin crust, brush it with melted butter and then roll it up. Cut the roll into individual florets, arrange them in a greased tray and let it rest again for 20-30 minutes.

Alternatively, you can allocate some of the dough from which to form different patterns and shapes on the bread. In that case, place the majority of the dough in the tray and make the forms on top.

Smear it with the beaten yolk with some water and put it to bake in a moderately heated oven. Wrap the finished loaf in a towel to smother it.
