Ingredients

  • carrots - 9 lb (4 kg)
  • sugar - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • water - 2 cups
  • geraniums - 5 leaves
  • citric acid - 1 tsp

How to make

Clean and wash the carrots well. Slice them into rings and boil them 4 times for 10 minutes each, and after each session of boiling, pour cold water thoroughly over them. Boil a syrup of the water and sugar and add the boiled carrots.

Boil the jam on medium heat, stirring occasionally. Add the geranium leaves. Five minutes before the jam is ready, add the citric acid, dissolved in some hot water.

Once ready, remove it from the heat and leave it to cool a bit. Pour into jars, cover with lids and store in a cool, dark place.
