Ingredients

  • eggs - 1
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • yogurt - 1 cup
  • baking soda - 1 level top tsp.
  • vanilla essence - 2 tsp.
  • oil - 1/2 cup
  • water - 1/2 cup
  • baking powder - 1/2 tbsp (5 g)
  • flour - 2 and 1/2 cups
  • walnuts - optional
  • fig jam - 1 jar with whole fruits
  • powdered sugar - for sprinkling

How to make

Turn on the oven to heat up to 360°F (180°C).

Beat the egg along with the sugar using a mixer. Add the yogurt in which you previously added the soda. Put the oil, water and vanilla, mix with a spoon, you don't need to use the mixer.

Put the baking powder in the flour and mix the two ingredients. Add to the mixture, by stirring until the mixture is smooth. You can add walnuts, if desired. I add very little.

Grease the baking pan in which you will bake the cake with jam. Pour the mixture into the baking pan. Take the Homemade Fig Jam and put figs into the mixture.

If the fig jam has syrup, you will use it to drizzle the cake when it is ready.

Put the fig jam cake to bake in the preheated oven. Bake until done.

When the delicious economical cake is ready, place it in a suitable dish and pour the fig syrup left over from the jar over it.

Once cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
