"Our favorite recipe for homemade two-tone cake, which no matter how many times you make it, it always turns out more than perfect!"

Ingredients

  • eggs - 4, L size
  • sugar - 2 cups
  • water /at room temperature/ - 1 cup
  • oil - 1/2 cup
  • flour - 3 cups
  • baking powder - 1 tbsp /10 g/
  • cocoa - 2 tbsp.
measures

How to make

I use a 8.5 fl oz (250 ml) glass to measure.

Beat the eggs and sugar very well. The mixture should become fluffy and light. Then add the oil, water and beat again. Finally sift the flour and add the baking powder. It is beaten again.

The mixture is divided into two parts. I leave the white one smaller, I put it in the middle. My men prefer it that way.

Put the cocoa in the other part and beat it. Butter and flour the cake tin. The brown part is poured first, the white in the middle and brown again on top.

The sponge cake is baked in a preheated oven at 360°F (180°C) for about 40 minutes. Observe and judge according to your oven. Mine is gas and it cooks differently.
