How to make
For the butter dough pour the flour into a deep bowl, season with salt and add the butter. Beat the egg and add the sugar. Knead with your fingers until you get a smooth dough.
Shape it into a ball and wrap it in cling film. Leave the dough in the refrigerator to set for 30 minutes.
For the filling peel the apples and clean them. Cut them into large cubes or wedges and place them in a bowl. Squeeze lemon juice so they don't darken.
Add sugar, starch, cardamom, raisins soaked in rum, cinnamon, breadcrumbs. Mix the filling well.
Cut the chilled dough in half. Roll out the larger part into a thickness of 2 mm. Using the rolling pin, transfer the dough to a suitable baking tray. Remove excess dough. Pour the apples inside.
Roll out the remaining dough. Cut it into 1.5 cm wide strips.
Arrange the strips on the pie like a grid. Spread apple pie with beaten egg yolk.
Bake the classic apple pie in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30-40 minutes.
