Ingredients

  • apples - 3
  • oats - 4.2 oz (120 g)
  • almonds - 3.5 oz (100 g) raw
  • almond milk - 19 fl oz (550 ml)
  • brown sugar - 0.9 oz (25 g)
  • turmeric - 1/4 tsp. or to taste
  • nutmeg - 2 pinches
  • cardamom - 2 pinches, ground or crushed seeds from the pods

How to make

This porridge is an idea for a fragrant and healthy breakfast that will fill you up and give you energy for a good start to the day.

The oats you will use for the oatmeal recipe can be whole or rolled.

Crush the almonds coarsely in a food processor or chop them by hand on a kitchen board.

Two of the apples are peeled, cleaned and grated on a coarse grater. Sprinkle with sugar and spices - turmeric, nutmeg and cardamom. If you don't like any of them - leave them out or add a smaller amount.

The flavored and lightly sweetened grated apples are placed over moderate heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

The oats and almond milk are added and the healthy breakfast is boiled for 10 minutes (the time is shortened with the crushed nuts, as they soften much faster).

Pour in half the almonds, mix and distribute into bowls.

The porridge with oats, apples and almonds is served warm, sprinkled with the remaining almonds and finely chopped pieces of the third remaining apple.
