Ingredients

  • coarsely ground cornmeal - 1 cup
  • water - 4 cups (1 L)
  • white cheese - 1 lump
  • paprika - 1 tbsp.
  • butter - lump
  • tomatoes - 1 pc.
  • basil - 3 - 4 leaves (fresh)

How to make

Put the water and cornmeal in a pot. Add the salt and wait for it to boil. Stir with a wooden spoon without stopping. Once it starts to separate, turn off the heat and remove the pot from it.

Make the thickener by melting the butter in a pan. Add the paprika and fry it lightly, being careful not to burn it.

Wash and cut the tomato into slices and the basil into small pieces.

Spread half of the cornmeal in a baking pan. Sprinkle with white cheese and pour with half of the paprika thickener. Arrange the tomato slices, covering the entire portion.

Spread the remaining cornmeal on top. Add white cheese on top and the remaining thickener again.

Bake in a preheated oven at 390°F (200°C) for about half an hour.
