"Salad with lentils and capers is the necessary dose of health for every day! It will also make a good impression on your guests"

Ingredients

  • red lentils - 4.2 oz (120 g)
  • capers - about 12 pcs. large ones (about 2 tbsp. of the small ones)
  • lettuce - 1 package of fresh leaves (4 handfuls)
  • cherry tomatoes - 12 pcs.
  • gouda - 2.1 oz (60 g) mature
  • olive oil - 6 tbsp.
  • lemon juice - 2 tbsp. or by taste
  • balsamic vinegar - by taste
  • black pepper - 2 pinches
  • salt - by taste

How to make

Wash the red lentils and boil them, until they soften. Strain and leave them to cool.

When ready, season with black pepper, salt, olive oil and lemon juice.

Place the salad leaves in a bowl with the halved cherry tomatoes. Add the flavored lentils, add more salt and olive oil and mix.

Divide between two salad bowls and add the capers and crumbled Gouda cheese on top.

Mature Gouda is firm, very aromatic and rich in color. You will recognize it by the black peel, as the semi-mature or fresher skin has a different color (lighter, yellow or orange).

Drizzle the red lentil salad with balsamic vinegar and serve it.
