How to make
Soak the walnuts in water from the night before and leave them all night to soften well and become tender.
In the morning, throw out the water, since it will have darkened. Wash the walnuts well and put them in a blender with 1 1/5 cups (300 ml) of the filtered water. Blend at maximum speed for 1 minute. Then open the lid of the jug and pour another 1 1/5 cups (300 ml) of water or more, depending on how saturated we want the walnut milk.
Blend for another 30 seconds. And done! With a really powerful blender, no straining is necessary, because the walnut particles are perfectly blended. But if you want you can strain the vegan milk through a fine sieve after letting it sit for 10 minutes (after blending).
If desired, you can skim off the foam that forms on the surface. Also, if you want, flavor it with vanilla. I personally prefer the natural taste of walnut milk - it's unique!
Use it to make healthy drinks, vegan desserts or why not a vegan tarator.
Walnut milk can be stored for up to 3 days in the refrigerator in a tightly closed glass bottle.
Enjoy your meal!
