How to make
The coconut shavings are soaked in the hot water for 10 minutes.
The mixture is then poured into a blender. Run the blender for 2-3 minutes. Then it is filtered through a strainer or cheesecloth.
Store the finished coconut milk in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
The pulp /coconut shavings/ that remain after straining can also be stored in the refrigerator.
You can make candies with them or use them for coconut cakes.
Note that a hard white part will form as it sits in the fridge. That is the coconut cream.
