How to make
Preparation of the chocolate mousse:
Dissolve the gelatin in 4 tbsp. of cold water.
All other products are mixed and placed in a container on the stove. In no case should the mixture boil, but only heat up to the point of it being hot. I check with my finger. Then the stove is reduced to the lowest setting.
The swollen gelatin is poured directly into the mixture. You don't need to dissolve it in a water bath. Stir, until the gelatin melts.
The mixture is removed from the heat and left to cool. It is then poured into a suitable mold.
When it cools down, put it back in the fridge to set - it's ready in about 2 hours. Only then make the white part.
Preparation of the white mousse:
White mousse is made in the same way as chocolate mousse. When it has cooled enough, it is poured directly on the chocolate, which should have hardened nicely.
Place the cake in the refrigerator, until the white mousse sets.
Note:
I used to use a round and tall mold with a diameter of 6.7″ (17 cm) to make the chocolate cake in. Now I decided to make it in the silicone Christmas tree mold, but I didn't think it was shallower. Well, my white part didn't set all.
If you use the same mold, I advise you to put equal amounts of the white and chocolate mixture, but less. Pour the rest into glasses.
