  • tomatoes - 9 lb (4 kg)
  • onion - 8 onions
  • sugar - 3/4 cup
  • vinegar - 1/2 cup
  • salt - 2 tbsp.

  • cinnamon - 1 tsp.
  • ground black pepper - 1 tsp.
  • nutmeg - 2 pinches
  • cloves - 1 tsp.

How to make

Tomatoes - well cleaned and washed, peeled and cut into small pieces (they can be grinded with a machine to separate the skins and seeds).

Clean and wash the onions, cut them into small pieces and put them together with the tomatoes in a pot to boil.

Add the vinegar and salt. Boil on moderate heat for about an hour.

Remove them from the heat and wait for them to cool, then puree with a liquidizer and place the mixture back onto the heat.

After the mixture boils, add the spices and stir.

Boil the homemade ketchup to the desired thickness, distribute it well into washed and well-dried jars or bottles.
