How to make
Mix the dry spices well, without the cloves. Put the cold milk in a deep pot and warm it gradually.
The dry mixture is added to it in parts, while constantly stirring, so that the salep does not become lumpy.
After boiling the mixture, add the cloves and reduce the heat. Leave it to simmer for about 1 hour, by stirring occasionally.
Remove it from heat and leave it to cool. Transfer it into a container with a lid, which is suitable for the freezer.
Place it in the freezer for 30 minutes, then the ice cream is taken out and it is stirred for 2-3 minutes.
The process of stirring the dairy ice cream is repeated every half hour at least 5 times, so that the ice cream does not turn into crystals.
It is then left in the freezer for a minimum of six hours to set and freeze. This Turkish Vanilla Ice Cream is something in between ice cream and halva and it melts more slowly.
The Turkish Vanilla Ice Cream is ready.
