"The Chinese know best about rice, so we present you a wonderful dish with rice and Shiitake mushrooms!"

Ingredients

  • rice - 8 oz (220 g)
  • water - 2 1/5 cups (550 ml)
  • chicken legs - 0.9 lb (400 g) boneless
  • shiitake mushrooms - 10.5 oz (300 g)
  • soy sauce - 5 tbsp.
  • sesame oil - 1 tbsp.
  • rice vinegar - 1 tbsp.
  • brown sugar - 1 tsp.
  • salt - 1/2 tsp.
  • sunflower oil - 3 tbsp.

How to make

Cut the chicken into pieces. Make the marinade from the sesame oil, 2 tbsp. of soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar and salt. Roll the meat in the marinade and leave it for about 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook the rice. Heat 1 tbsp. of oil. Pour the rice in it and stir, until it becomes transparent. Add the water and leave it to boil, until it's semi-cooked. Leave it to cool.

It is important to add the rice to the fried meat and mushrooms cold, because if it is added warm, it will become mushy.

Heat 2 tbsp. of oil in a deep frying pan over a moderate heat on the stove. Add the marinated chicken and fry for about 15 min, by stirring occasionally.

Clean the Shiitake mushrooms lightly and cut them into large pieces. Add them to the chicken and fry them for another 15 minutes, while stirring.

Add the cold rice and stir well to combine the ingredients. Cook, while stirring for about 5 minutes.

Finally, season the pan-fried rice with more soy sauce if you like.

The Chinese-Style Chicken with Rice and Mushrooms is very tasty.
