How to make
Beat the yolks with the vanilla and sugar. Add the sifted flour and the milk gradually.
Beat the egg whites with the salt. Then mix them with the other mixture, by stirring gently, until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
Melt the butter in a pan and pour 1-3 of the mixture. Before turning to bake on the other side, sprinkle with raisins (which we have previously soaked in rum for 2 hours).
Using two wooden spatulas, break the pancake into pieces, sprinkle it with sugar and fry it, until it aquires a golden color, while stirring in the meantime.
The mixture is for 3 large pans.
Serve the german kaiserschmarrn with powdered sugar.
