"I bet it had never occurred to you to put lemon in a gratin ... Definitely a good idea"

Ingredients

  • lemon peel - 1 pc. (1 full tbsp.)
  • dried thyme - 4 pinches
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp. (freshly grinded)
  • cream - 4/5 cup (200 ml)
  • vegetable broth - 4/5 cup (200 ml)
  • potatoes - about 2.8 lb (1.25 kg)
  • salt - 1 tsp.
  • black pepper - 1 tsp. (freshly grinded)
measures

How to make

Oven - 360°F (180°C);

The potatoes are cleaned and peeled. Cut them into about 0.1″ (0.3 cm) thick circles.

Place a large pot on a heated hob with water and add the grated lemon peel, thyme, nutmeg, broth, black pepper and salt.

Once the water boils, add the sliced potatoes, stir and leave it after the water boils for exactly 8 minutes. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them in a greased baking dish. Arrange them.

Drizzle them with the cream. Cover them with aluminum foil and initially bake at 360°F (180°C) for 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 30 minutes, until they're nicely browned.

The lemon gratin with potatoes is very tasty.

Note: In addition to the grated lemon peel, add the cut one into very small cubes, almost mashed for an even stronger flavor.

Exceptional gratin, which is very aromatic and at the same time delicate. Juicy, with a wonderful taste of baked potatoes and cream.
