  • powdered sugar - 3.5 oz (100 g)
  • butter - 5.3 oz (150 g) (room temperature)
  • candied orange peel - 3 tbsp.
  • eggs - 1 pc. room temperature (large)
  • fresh orange juice - 1 tbsp.
  • white flour - 7 oz (200 g)
  • sugar
measures

How to make

Oven - 360°F (180°C); flat tray covered with baking paper; you will work with a mixer.

The almonds, powdered sugar and orange peel are grinded in a blender into crumbs.

Beat the butter, until a white mixture is obtained in the mixer. Add the almond paste and stir at a slow speed - about 1 minute. Add the egg and orange juice, stir and finally add the sifted flour.

The dough is taken out and divided into two equal parts, each of which is formed into a cylinder and wrapped in foil. Keep them refrigerated for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Once well cooled, take them out, allow them to reach room temperature for a few minutes.

Sprinkle crystal sugar in a wide and flat plate and roll each roll on all sides. Then cut with a sharp knife into slices - about 1 cm thick.

Arrange them in the tray with a good distance between them. Place the tray in the refrigerator again for about 15 minutes, so that the butter dough can set and not deform too much during baking.

Bake at 360°F (180°C) for about 13-15 minutes or until a golden edge is obtained at the end of each biscuit.

The Original French Sable Orange Biscuits are ready.
