  • vodka - 1 cup (250 ml) high quality, room temperature
  • sugar - 7 oz (200 g)
  • water - 9 oz (250 g)
  • lemon juice - from 1 lemon

How to make

The lemons are washed and dried. The peel of three of them is grated on a fine grater. With a vegetable peeler, peel 8 lemons, but only the yellow.

The peels and grated lemon peels are poured into a large jar, in which the alcohol is poured.

Close with a lid and shake, so that the peels absob well. Cover with a household towel and store in a dark and cool place for 15 days. Shake 1-2 times a day. The peeled lemons can be used to make lemonade.

After 15 days, open the jar and add the sugar, water and the juice of 1 lemon. Close it again. Shake vigorously and leave it in a dark and cool place for 24 hours. The mixture is then filtered through a fine sieve. The peels are squeezed and discarded.

The resulting liqueur is poured into a bottle, closed and left in a dark and cool place for 1 month. It is then consumed.

To make it clear, it can be strained through filter paper.

Store it in the freezer.

It is best, that the glasses, in which it will be poured are also frozen in advance and crushed ice is added.

Apart from this method of preparation, it can also be prepared with sugar and water syrup, after the lemon peels along with the alcohol are poured in the jar and have been left long enough, from the water and sugar boil a syrup for only 5 minutes, cool it to room temperature and add to the strained alcohol.

Shake well.
