How to make
Wash and dry the lemons. Scrape the yellow part from the white part of the peel carefully. Put the peels in a glass container with a lid and pour the vodka in. Put the lid tightly and leave the dish in a cool, dark place for one month.
After 30 days, make a sugar syrup by pouring the sugar in a pot, adding the water and heating over medium heat on the stove. Once the sugar has dissolved, allow the syrup to cool to room temperature. Then add it to the vodka and lemon peel mixture.
Cover the pot well again and leave in a cool, dark place for 7 days. Then strain the liquid and distribute it into bottles. Store them in a cool place.
This makes around 12 1/2 cups (3 l) of limoncello.
