  • basil - 6 - 8 fresh leaves
  • oregano - for sprinkling (optional)
  • breadcrumbs - about 3 - 4 tbsp.

How to make

Preheat the oven to 390°F (200°C).

Press the garlic or grate it on a very fine grater. Add it to the egg whites along with two pinches of salt and beat well, until bubbles start to form.

Cut the bread into thin slices and the yellow cheese also into thin slices, which are about the size of the bread.

Line a baking tray with parchment paper and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. This will prevent sticking from the melted cheese and the bottom of the slice of bread will become crunchy.

Dip each slice in the garlic egg whites on both sides and again a slice the yellow cheese on both sides.
